Wondering how to foster student engagement when conducting online lessons, or face-to-face classes?

 

This hands-on workshop will cover a variety of e-learning strategies and interactive tools for engaging learners throughout different stages of a class session. Our facilitator will present actual examples and demonstrations. You will then try out the example activities as well as practise creating your own learning activities throughout the workshop.

The workshop will be held using Zoom video conferencing software, connection details will be provided to successful registrants 1 day before the workshop date.

1. Polls and short quizzes (e.g., Poll Everywhere, Socrative, Quizizz)

2. Whole-class Brainstorming (e.g. Answer Garden; Dotstorming)

3. Work Sharing and Displaying (e.g., Padlet, Shared Google Slides)

4. Discussing and Commenting (e.g., Voicethread, Flipgrid)

5. Microlearning units (e.g., GoConqr, Symbaloo Learning Path)

6. Hyperdocs (e.g., Google doc, Google Forms)

7. Interactive tasks (e.g., LearningApps.org; Wordwall)

8. Short interactive presentations (e.g., Nearpod, Pear Deck)
